Slope distance errors, reference point issues

 

  1. When displacement data looks disproportionate there is a chance the slope distances are not inputed correctly in the baseline. It is advised to measure slope distance with most precision possible.
  2. The reference point is expected to not move, when the reference point moves, everything else will move with it. It is highly advisable to change position of the reference point to a more stable location.

Reminder: As for the accuracy, the slope distance acts as a scale factor to go from measured angles to displacement. The rule of thumb is as follows, if you’re 1% off with your slope distance, your displacement will be 1% off as well.
