TotaLite Platform: Measurement Quality Diagnostics

CQF, SNR and Number of Targets Observed

 

The “Data Quality” section under TotaLite Platform>Devices>Device_Select has 3 metrics showing, CQF, SNR and Number of Targets Observed. The data can be visualised weekly, monthly and customised to a certain period, the sampling can be visualised as “Raw Data” which are all the data points available depending on measurement frequency and the “Median”.

 

Correlation Quality Factor

CQF

The Correlation Quality Factor measures how well the response of a measurement matches a hypothetical perfect response, in other words, how close is the image quality of the measured target to an ideal image of a target.

  • A good measure for CQF is closest to 1.

    If the CQF is too low, it can be improved by:

    • Checking on site for disturbances of the field of view for TotaLite Sensor
    • Clearing the field of view for TotaLite Sensor

Signal to Noise Ratio

SNR

The Signal to Noise Ratio, is a metric differentiating between how much of the target seen by TotaLite sensor is signal against the measured noise, in other words, it’s a measure for brightness of the measured target image.

  • A good measure is above >20dB.

    Between 18 and 20 dB is still acceptable, yet not optimal.

    Below 18 dB is not a good measure and needs to be improved.

    The SNR can be improved by:

    • Adjusting prism orientation such that it faces the TotaLite Sensor
    • Adjusting power settings, by increasing power.
    • Making sure the prisms are clean

Number of Targets Observed

Number of targets observed
  • Monitor target detection performance to verify system functionality and data completeness.

    Purpose:

    • Track detection success - View how many targets were successfully measured in each cycle
    • Identify issues - Detect when targets are missed due to obstructions, lighting conditions, or system problems
    • Data quality verification - Ensure consistent target detection for reliable monitoring

    Usage: Use this data to troubleshoot measurement gaps and verify that all expected targets are being consistently detected and measured.
