Practical guidelines to understanding the Field of View of TotaLite Sensor

 

The TotaLite Sensor offers a field of view with 60 degrees horinzontaly and a 45 degrees in the vertical direction.

Normally the field of view becomes a section of a cone, expanding the farther the distance from the target gets.

 
Coverage grows linearly, because Field of View is a fixed cone, every extra meter of slope distance adds exactly the same increment of approximately 1.155 meters horizontally from the camera pinhole. At maximum range we can expect a half span of +-40.41 meters of a total of 80.83 meters in full span.
 
The same will happen vertically, but with an increment of ~0.828 m/m, given the field of view is narrower. At full range, which is 70, we can expect a half span of +-28.99m and a full span of approximately 58m.
