What is TotaLite?


System Overview and Core Capabilities

TotaLite is an innovative, low-power, optical sensor used for continuous displacement monitoring of retroreflectors. TotaLite is typically used to monitor relative displacement of structures and machinery, such as tunnel convergence close to excavations. It can also be used to monitor deformations of geotechnical assets and structures due to land subsidence or construction activities.

TotaLite captures images, identifies the retroreflectors as monitoring targets and converts sub-pixel changes of these targets into (angular) displacements. TotaLite uses diffractive optics (pinhole camera) to ensure the required accuracy and long-term temperature stability. The TotaLite Sensor transmits the images via internet connection (e.g. LTE or Ethernet) in the cloud where the images are processed into accurate displacement information. The results will be visualised in near real-time graphs and generate required alerts in the TotaLite platform or export the data via API to a platform of choice. TotaLite is capable of correcting for motions of the sensors itself using “fixed” reference points and an on-board accelerometer.

The TotaLite Mobile App is used for local configuration of the TotaLite Sensor.

The TotaLite Platform is used to complete the Sensor set-up with the Baseline and Visualise data.
